Jim Sparrow Calgary Real EstateEarlier this week it was revealed that Alderman Druh Farrell had approached the City of Calgary's road department with a proposal to close down two of the four lanes of Memorial Drive on Sundays in August. Acting on Farrell's suggestion the City has approved closing both eastbound lanes of Memorial, between 3rd & 7th Streets SW, for pedestrian use.

Alderman Ric McIver supports people getting out into the fresh air but says closing part of Memorial Drive isn't the answer. "There are some bad ideas and this is a very bad idea," says McIver.
